Do the Job or Enjoy the Job

Today as we look at the job trend in Malaysia, most of the unemployed are graduated students. WHY? Why is this happens? Is it that our country has not offer any jobs? Or there are no vacancy in Malaysia? But why did 'PATI' is increasing here? So fellows, lets look it at the bright side. It's not that there are NO job offers neither NO vacancy. The problem is us.

For example myself. I graduated last 2009 and I started my career at a Bank and then I resigned (the most stupid decision I ever made). Well, the reason I made that decision is because I thought that as a fresh graduate, there are more jobs that I could have. But, I was wrong. Because of the stress as a bank officer, I resigned. Then there I go... I became unemployed. For 3 months, I was jobless. Then I realized, I was not aware of the reality world. I am not in my college life, no friends hanging out, no classes to skip, no play and the most important thing, I have no money in my bank account. I was living in my own world without realizing that my friends are moving forward and I'm way left behind.

I applied many jobs and finally, I was hired by one of the Singapore company in Subang. They offered me as Admin Assistant. Imagine, the whole company are 99% Chinese and I'm the only one bumiputra. I enjoyed myself. Cut long story short, I moved to Sarawak.

My point is, even in Sarawak, I find it hard for me to get a job. Especially the one that I am hoping for. Some of us prefer to work with private sector where we could earn big money and more challenge. But some would prefer to work with the Government where we find security in financial, job, even when we retired.

But, to some people, we works with private sector not because they want to be there, but because they have no choice. I always think that for those who works with the Government are very very lucky or they knew the high ranking people in that department (who knows). As for me, I have many experience and I've worked different types of job before. From the cleaner to officer and move to executive or even direct selling, sales assistant in Shopping Mall you name it, I've done it.

My advice to our friends out there that are still looking for job or still hoping to get your dream job, stop it. If you wanna get it, start from now on. If you are unemployed, get a job! Doesn't matter what kind of job is that as long as it keep you busy. If you are working, do your job nicely not because you have to, but because you are shaping yourself for your dream job.

Life is not suck. We are! Life is teaching us how to get what you want by what you have. Its giving us a hint to the next step. It's up to us to solve the puzzle. For me, I'm looking at my life as a battlefield. It's either to stay behind or to keep moving. Your choice!
